What is it about falling in love that’s so intoxicating? That no matter how the last relationship ended we slowly heal; learn to be okay with ourselves; to be without someone. And in time, become so fearless we are bold enough to try again. The heart-stopping push to want to believe in someone new.
To be desired, loved, accepted as we are.
Last night I caught the tail end of the romantic comedy “Love and Other Disasters”: Emily said to her housemate, Peter: “Maybe true love is a decision. You know, a decision to take a chance with somebody. To give to somebody. Without worrying whether they’ll give anything back. Or if they’re gonna hurt you, or if they really are the one. Maybe love isn’t something that happens to you. Maybe it’s something you have to choose”…
And as we slowly count down the last few hours to 2012, I look to the year ahead. I believe in possibilities and wish for you true love.
