It seems spectacularly fitting to enter a brand-new decade by looking back at the enormity of 2019: The phenomenally amazing highs, the earth-shattering, knee scraping lows and, of course, all the fun stuff in between.
So how did the year begin? …with an email from The BTA (Bermuda Tourism Authority).
The location? Boston
Time of year? March
Where? The Four Seasons
Why? A collaboration between Town and Country and the BTA
What? A Bridal Luncheon and Expert Panel Discussion
Objective? Inspiring hundreds of couples to consider Bermuda as a destination for their wedding/honeymoon
My Role? The nitty-gritty truth about planning a destination wedding – all tied with a Tiffany bow
How could I say “No”?
It was such an honour to participate at the Town and Country Event at The Four Season and meet so many amazing couples, to share my love for our unique island rich in culture and tradition, the friendliness of its people and its incomparable beauty. And in the telling, I experience such deep-seated love and admiration for the place that I call home.
The crisp morning sun flooded through the expansive windows casting a fresh light across the room. Such thought was given to the layout, the intoxicating welcome drinks, the selection of crisp cotton linens. Each mouth-watering morsel of the Bermudian inspired menu screamed: “more please”.
I lingered over the delicately designed stationery, the fun twist on traditional Bermuda Gold and Silver wedding cakes and OMG, the divine “spoil me why don’t you” gift bags. Heck yes!
And the flowers…. did I tell you about the flowers?
I had the opportunity to spend time with oh so engaging Marc Hall – no cocktail conversation taking place here – whose work I have long admired, and seriously geek out about his floral installations.
Being on the Panel was such a phenomenal experience all beautifully moderated by Erik Maza. We were asked such great questions (thank you, thank you) and ran with it terribly embellished from years of experience. The attendees laughed until tears were in their eyes, they gasped in amazement at our stories, but most of all they learned and went away wanting more.
Thank you Town and Country, Thank you BTA and thank you to everyone who came. It was an experience of a lifetime.
If you want to learn more about planning a Bermuda Destination Wedding, drop me a line. I can’t promise you a steal-worthy gift bag but I know exactly where to get them!
